Overview

Since 2017/18, the Education Bureau has included ‘Mental Illness’ in the category of Special Education Needs, allowing Student Guidance and Integrated Education support personnel to jointly assist and support students with mental health needs at school. Regardless of emotional counselling or support activities, students in need can also receive different services in accordance with their situation.
This seminar will discuss how to facilitate collaboration between different teams to develop a collaborative influence for helping MI students.
Despite the similarities, the mode of practice and the follow-up actions of Student Guidance and Integrated Education are different in practice. Therefore, the school's positioning and practice play a crucial role in students’ condition and development. The approaches to how to strike a balance between the two can be utterly disparate.
