Special Vacation — My Adventurous Journey

Overview

"In the beginning of 2022, affected by the pandemic, all schools in Hong Kong had to take an early summer vacation. What could the students learn and do to spend their time?

This school’s curriculum team and all the panel heads discussed and planned how to let students make use of the unexpected vacation. According to the student backgrounds, learning interests and parental support, they designed ‘My Adventurous Journey’ which is composed of nine activities for students. The students played the roles as little warriors to complete the tasks at nine different places, which were ‘Reading Kingdom’, ‘The Cooking Town’, ‘Maths Castle’, ‘Environmentally Friendly Empire’, ‘Religious Garden’, ‘Character Strength Gas Station’, ‘Emotion Classroom’, ‘Thanksgiving Lecture Hall’ and ‘Dynamic News City’. During the adventurous journey, students have had positive development and improvement mentally and cognitively. STEM works made by the students on the Padlet, records of the process of preparing healthy snacks with parents, and positive comments received from parents make us reflect on the importance of changes."
