Positive Education: Where Science Meets Effective Application in School Context

Overview
"This foundation introduced Positive Education to Hong Kong in 2014 in response to concerns over children's mental health, with the goal of enhancing students' well-being. In implementation, the foundation supported the first local subsidised primary school to launch a pilot project to enforce Positive Education in a whole-school model, attracting widespread interest among local schools. Apart from providing systematic professional development opportunities, this foundation supports primary and secondary school teachers to implement Positive Education in a context relevant to their school environments.
In this session, the speaker will share school-based practice with examples to illustrate how the science of Positive Psychology (e.g. character strengths, emotional learning) can be incorporated into effective school-based practice, and discuss how empirical research data can bring impact to best practice."
